Professor Jon Mattias Ahren is a distinguished international legal expert on international indigenous rights law. He is also an expert on and practically well acquainted with the CDB and in particular ABS regime, having for instance been a lead negotiator on the Nagoya Protocol and subsequently one of the co-authors of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Explanatory Guide to the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization to the Convention on Biological Diversity (IUCN, 2012).
